Lisa Gonzales, RN, IBCLC
I am a registered nurse (RN) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Prior to becoming a lactation consultant, I was a high risk labor & delivery and postpartum nurse for 9 years. After the birth of my first baby, I experienced breastfeeding difficulties, shifted my career focus to families with feeding issues, and became an IBCLC.
Through many classes and conferences, I have developed a specialty in oral restrictions, or tongue ties. Since 2020 I have presented for lactation students in the Lactation Education program at the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health on how tongue tie impacts infant feeding. In 2023 I became a permanent part of the OHSU-PSU team where I co-teach aspiring IBCLCs in all aspects of lactation and infant feeding.
I support and advocate for all babies and parents with feeding and latching concerns, whether they are providing human milk or not. I aim to guide each family towards their unique feeding goals via a holistic approach, looking at the whole family, not just the latch.
In addition to my private practice, I am a board member for Camp It Up!, an LGBTQIA+ family camp in California and serve on the Educational Equity Advisory Committee for my local school district.
I live in Wilsonville, Oregon with my husband and 3 rambunctious kids. I enjoy sewing, crafting, and (nerd alert) learning about infant feeding.
Carrie DiStefano, MS, IBCLC
Carrie has been an IBCLC since 2015. She established a successful lactation practice in WA prior to relocating to beautiful southern Oregon with her family in 2023.
Her extensive knowledge merges the two worlds of private practice and her hospital postpartum and NICU experience. She has a depth of understanding that allows her to support families no matter how complex the issue is.
Carrie has completed a year-long holistic lactation program and her focus is on identifying root cause issues. Her specialty areas include: assessing babies head to toe to identify issues that may be contributing to feeding difficulties, oral habilitation for tongue ties, bottle refusal/difficulties, gut health (both parent and baby) and milk supply concerns.
She welcomes the opportunity to support local families with ANY lactation concern. She is also available to assess flange fit for pumping or returning to work.
